Intelligent Lens Technology
Vautron is a unique optical polymer unlike any other. Originally developed for military purpose used in AH-64 Apache helicopter windshield panels, this lens material offers the sportsmen not less than:
Combines all benefits in a single lens
Photochromic High performance photochromic. Enjoy the comfort to have automatic adjustment to varying light conditions. Perfect performance of fast reaction time and wide range of lens tint variation. At moderate temperatures and sunny conditions, Vautron photochromic lenses get dark up to 75-80% of their initial transmission. And they darken fast - to 90% of their full range in less than one minute. Anti-reflect mirror can be combined with photochromic that is usually not available.
High Chemical Resistance Unlike polycarbonate and polyamide, Vautron is not attacked by most common chemicals like acetone, methylalcohol or gasoline and mineral oils.
Hydro and Oleophobic (Oil and Water Repelling) The lipids that make up oil will stick to almost anything. Vautron oleophobic coating makes it extremely difficult for oil molecules to grab hold of the Vautron lens surface. This means that water, oil and even ink doesn't stand a chance.
Impact Resistance - more protection Vautron's impact resistance is considerably higher than polycarbonate and passes all impact resistance standards.
Optically Superior Vautron has lower refractive index, internal stress and chromatic dispersion (Abbe Number) than polycarbonate, resulting in lower surface reflection and "rainbow effect", higher definition and sharper images.
Superior Anti-Scratch
Vautron lenses feature a superior scratch-resistant anti-static coating which does not attract dust, unlike to polycarbonate and polyamide lenses.
Lightweight Vautron is about 16% lighter than CR-39 and 10% lighter than polycarbonate.
